Previously, Malada held a project management role for the education department at the European Union Delegation in South Africa, where he was responsible for providing both technical and financial support to the higher education sector of the country.
While working at the European Union, Brutus Malada was responsible for overseeing the Erasmus Mundus scholarship program.
This program provided opportunities for hundreds of South African students, as well as university students, to study abroad.

Brutus Malada has a wealth of research and academic experience, having worked for several leading organizations such as the National Research Foundation, the Center for Education Policy Development, the Human Sciences Research Council, and the University of the Western Cape (UWC).
