While at Oakland, he was First Team All-League in his junior and senior years, and he led the Oakland Wildcats to a 23-9 record during his senior year.
Despite being a two-star prospect, Lillard accepted a scholarship offer to play for Weber State in Ogden, Utah. Lillard chose Weber State in part because he wanted to escape the violence of his Oakland neighborhood.
During his college career at Weber State, Damian Lillard earned multiple honors including Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year and Big Sky Player of the Year.
