Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, a Nigerian politician and the current governor of Adamawa State, was born on October 27, 1967. He was a member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and was elected Speaker.

Following the July 2014 impeachment of Murtala Nyako, the previous governor of Adamawa State, he became the state’s interim governor, a position he handed over to Bala James Ngilari after three months.

The 9th of March, 2019 state gubernatorial election results were tabulated, and Fintiri emerged as the winner with the highest number of votes. Murtala Nyako, another ex-governor, also expressed shock at Mr Badami’s death in a sympathy message. “Not only is his death a significant loss to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his personal family, but to the entire state and beyond.”

He urged everyone to take comfort in the awareness that death is unavoidable, and he prayed to Allah to “give the deceased the highest dwelling in his cherished paradise.”

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri has lost his mother. According to a state government notice, the mother, Hajiya Fatima Umar Badami, died at the Federal Medical Centre in Yola after a long illness.
