Brief Background of MoneyMaster PSB
Telecom giant Globacom has officially launched its payment service bank, MoneyMaster PSB, on October 6, 2022. The bank began commercial operations on May 30, 2022.
The company’s goal is to empower Nigerians by providing them with unlimited opportunities, and MoneyMaster PSB aims to do this by targeting the unbanked and under-banked population with its flagship product, G-Kala.
They are trying to increase financial inclusion in Nigeria. MoneyMaster was granted a payment service bank license by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on August 27, 2020.
MoneyMaster Payment service banks are able to facilitate payment and remittance services, accept deposits, issue debit and prepaid cards, and operate electronic wallets, but they cannot grant loans. MoneyMaster will be utilizing Globacom’s widespread network and agents in rural and urban areas as it begins its roll-out.
Customers can easily open an account by dialing *995# from any telecommunications network. MoneyMaster’s G-kala product utilizes the customer’s phone number as their account number.
