Mark Andrew Wood, a renowned English cricketer, was born on January 11, 1990, in Ashington, Northumberland, United Kingdom. He is the son of Derek Wood and his wife and shares the same parents with his brother, Luke Wood.

Mark Wood represents England internationally in all formats of the game. He plays for Durham in domestic cricket and has also been a part of the Indian Premier League, representing teams like Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.

Wood made his debut in Test, One Day International (ODI), and T20 International formats in 2015. He has competed for England in major tournaments such as the T20 World Cup in 2022 and the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

He contributed to England’s victory against Australia in the Ashes Test, taking important wickets. Wood also played against Pakistan, making a recovery from injury and helping England win matches with his bowling performance.

Wood made his Test cricket comeback in 2019 during the South Africa tour. He was included in England’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup and reached milestones in terms of wickets and appearances in ODI matches.

He was also part of the England team for the T20 World Cups in 2021 and 2022, where he performed impressively until his injury in the later stages. Wood achieved a rare feat of winning both the ODI and T20 World Cups with England, making him one of six athletes to accomplish this.
