Kenneth Gyang, a talented filmmaker hailing from Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, Nigeria, is making waves in the international film scene. He honed his skills in Film Production at the National Film Institute in Jos and furthered his expertise in screenwriting at Gaston Kaboré’s Burkina Faso.
Gyang has earned global acclaim as a savvy Nigerian filmmaker, standing out among the younger generation. Notable highlights from his career include his debut feature film, “Confusion Na Wa,” which clinched the Best Film award at the 2013 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
He also made a mark as a 2018 American Film Showcase Fellow at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts and as a graduate of the prestigious EAVE European Producers Workshop.
Among his directorial achievements are the TV drama series “Wetin Dey,” tackling social issues like HIV, and the Netflix Original “Ólòturé.” Gyang’s works have graced esteemed international film festivals, including the New York African Film Festival, the Los Angeles Pan-African Film Festival, and the Berlinale Talent Campus.
Beyond filmmaking, Gyang collaborated with Communicating For Change as an Associate Producer on “Bayelsian Silhouettes.” His latest project, “Finding Aisha,” is a TV series where he took on the roles of co-writer, producer, and director for the Nigerian production company Televista.
