Avery’s journey in soccer began during his youth career with Las Pulgas from 1972 to an undisclosed year. Moving on to his college years, he played for the Westmont Warriors from 1986 to 1989, amassing 92 appearances and scoring 25 goals.
Transitioning to his senior career, Avery played for Real Santa Barbara in 1990, followed by a stint with Askims IK from 1991 to 1993 and Indiana Invaders. Currently, he serves as the head coach for Fort Wayne FC.
