The source said that Governor Bello, who is also the National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, has become worried about Tinubu’s presidency after hearing that Honorable James Faleke, a lawmaker who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, may run for the APC governorship.

Faleke is a close friend of Tinubu’s and was the running mate for Abubakar Audu, the APC candidate for governor in November 2015, who died soon after casting his vote.

Checks showed that the political parties are likely to hold their primaries for governor in March or April 2023, right after the general election.

Sources say that Governor Bello is in a tough spot because his close friends have told him to rethink his open support for Tinubu. They say that if Tinubu wins the presidential election next month, he will have the power to decide who gets what in the party.

Kogi West’s push for a change in power Another party leader in Kogi State who didn’t want to be named said that Bello doesn’t want power to move to Kogi West and has already backed the current Accountant General of the state, Jubril Mommoh, who is from Kogi East.

He said, “The governor wants his next leader to be a close friend who can cover his tracks.”

So, he doesn’t want Tinubu to win the election for president. He knows that Tinubu will look at how he came to power with the help of governors from the north, and he may look toward Kogi West and Faleke.

“The PDP may also choose a candidate from Kogi West for the election in November,”

The source also said that, in addition to the current Kogi Accountant General, the current Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, who is also from Kogi East and is a former Chief of Staff, is also interested in the APC ticket for the Lugard House.

But it could not be said for sure if James Faleke, the Secretary of the APC PCC, has shown interest in running for the party ticket.

The APC source also said that Tinubu, who personally signed Governor Bello’s appointment letter as the National Youth Coordinator for his campaign last September, knew that the governor was only half-committed to his goal.

“He knows some of the governors who could work against him,” he said. So, he is counting on the Independent Campaign Council, which he set up, to run his campaign. Faleke comes from the.

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Ha-jiya Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, the Honorable Baba Ali, and many others have been trying to get people in the state to support Tinubu.
