He played a total of 305 senior games for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and earned the prestigious Brownlow Medal in 1999.

Currently, he serves as the head coach for the Ardmona Cats. Originally from Finley, New South Wales, Crawford began his football journey with the Finley Football Club.

After attending Assumption College in Kilmore, Victoria, he got selected by Hawthorn in the 1991 AFL Draft and made his debut in 1993.

Crawford played 305 career AFL games, receiving four All-Australian selections and participating in three International Rules series for Australia.His notable achievements include captaining Hawthorn in 1999, winning the Brownlow Medal, and being part of Hawthorn’s 2008 premiership side.
