Iyabo Ojo began her acting career in 1998 after being involved in a drama group in secondary school.

She joined the Actors Guild of Nigeria with the help of Bimbo Akintola and was able to network with other people in the industry. Since then, she has acted in and scripted numerous Nigerian films.

Her debut role was in the English-language film, Satanic in 1998, and she made her Yoruba-language debut with Baba Darijinwon in 2002.

In 2004, she started producing her own films, starting with Bolutife, and later, Bofeboko, Ololufe, Esan, and Okunkun Biribiri.
