Bryan Bresee is a 21-year-old American football player born on October 6, 2001, in Damascus, Maryland. He played college football at Clemson University, where he won the 2020 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year award. 
Bryan was a five-star recruit from Urbana High School in Frederick, Maryland, before transferring to Damascus High School. He helped lead Damascus to state championship victories in 2017 and 2019.
Bryan Bresee’s parents, Richard Bresee and Meghan Flynn Bresee, were both athletes, and he inherited their passion for sports. His father played football at James Madison University in Virginia, while his mother played college basketball for three years.
Early Life | High School Career
Bresee went to high school at Urbana High School in Frederick, Maryland, where he played football. He then moved to Damascus High School in Damascus, Maryland, where he played football for the next two years. He was a big reason why his team won the state title in 2017 and again in 2019.
Bresee was a highly sought-after five-star recruit, and 247Sports ranked him as the best overall prospect in the country. He had offers from Penn State, Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State, all of which are well-known schools. But he made a promise to play college football at Clemson University.
College Football Career
Bresee joined the football team at Clemson University in 2020. In his first year, he started every game and made 33 stops, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks.
Even though the Tigers lost to Ohio State in the CFP Semi Finals, Bresee had a good game. He had 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack.
At the end of his freshman year, he was named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year and a part of the All-ACC first team. Bresee got hurt in 2021 and could only play in four games because he tore his ACL.
But he was still named to the All-ACC team. In 2022, he missed a few games because of illness and family issues, but he still made the All-ACC team again.
In the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Bresee was picked up by the New Orleans Saints. He has not yet signed with the team, so he is marked as a draft pick who has not yet signed.
Ella, Bresee’s younger sister, died at age 15 from brain cancer in 2022.  Bresee has kept playing football even though his sister died in a tragic accident. He does this to respect his sister’s memory.
